Easter Basket Ideas For College Students

I always enjoyed creating an Easter basket for my young daughter and leaving it in her room after she fell asleep. When she woke up on Easter morning, it was the first thing she would see. Of course, that was quite a few years ago, when she was so excited to see what the Easter bunny brought for her!

However, now that she is a freshman at college, I wondered if I should still carry on this tradition and whether or not she would still be interested. Well, I actually got my answer to that question while she was home during Spring break.

She shared a story with me about being on a line at the convenience store on campus and listening to some of the employees discuss Easter. One happened to say to the other that she was giving a basket to her 16-year old daughter. The other employee told her that 16 was too old. Having heard that, the first employee turned to my daughter and asked her if she would want an Easter basket. My daughter answered that she hopes she will still get one since she likes them so much!

Needless to say, I was so happy to hear this story and it warmed my heart! It reinforced my belief that, truly, your children are never too old to celebrate holidays and share in the family traditions you first created as a young family.

If you have a college-aged son or daughter, here are some fun and easy items you can choose from to include in your Easter baskets this year:

Remember, big or small, an Easter basket will always be appreciated. And, naturally, the only real requirement is that the basket contains some type of chocolate or favorite candy!

One day I hope to create Easter baskets not only for my daughter but for my grandchildren too! Happy Easter!
