Here are four of my favorite wines under $30. With Thanksgiving around the corner, these can be given as a hostess gift or served at your own holiday table. We have served these wines on many occasions and all of our guests have enjoyed them. I hope you do too!
White Wines Under $30
My favorite type of white wine is Sauvignon Blanc which are generally pale green in color with a fresh and fruity taste.
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc
Cloudy Bay is a popular wine from New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region with a crisp and citrus taste. I find it to be a tasty, versatile white wine that you can enjoy with appetizers, dinner, or on its own!
Sancerre
Sancerre is the name of a wine region in France’s Loire Valley where white wines are made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. You can find many reasonably priced wines from Sancerre and I have never had one that I didn’t really enjoy!
Red Wines Under $30
In general, I prefer lighter-bodied red wines. While I have enjoyed a Cabernet Sauvignon served with red meat, I much prefer pinot noir. They tend to be a little lighter but still have a rich taste. I also like merlot because I find them to be something in-between a pinot and a cabernet.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
This is one tasty pinot noir. It has a beautiful garnet color with fruity and oak characteristics. I think it goes especially well with pasta and pizza, although I could enjoy it with whatever was served.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Merlot
With its rich, dark fruit flavors, you really can’t go wrong with this value wine, usually priced below $15!
