We just got back from our weekend trip to Newport and now it’s the 4th of July and the summer is in full swing! Speaking of swing, while in Newport, I purchased an adorable cocktail book to add to my ever growing collection:

This charming book contains beautiful illustrations and fonts that really capture the spirit of the Roaring 20’s. Quotes from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby are peppered throughout and, with more than twenty classic recipes, it is a great addition to any cocktail lover’s collection. It even has a bookmark gift tag in the shape of a cocktail shaker! Gatsby Cocktails was the perfect memento from our tour of the Rosecliff mansion.
I wanted to choose a recipe from the book to celebrate Independence Day and I thought the slight reddish color of the Raspberry Rickey (page 55) was perfect! I also made a slightly different version using some limoncello we received as gift from a friend. Both versions were super refreshing!
