Supplies

Supply list for easy & elegant easy eggs
  • Plastic container
  • Plastic utensil or wooden skewer
  • Disposable gloves
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Nail polish
  • Water
  • Egg carton (for drying eggs)

How-To

Start by hard-boiling some eggs! I like to make them on the stovetop like this:

You can also use your Instant Pot and follow their recipe for hard-boiled eggs.

Now for the fun part:

  1. Fill a plastic bowl or container with room temperature water. The water must be room temperature as cold water will cause the nail polish to sink to the bottom.
  2. Choose your nail polish color. I chose this watermelon color.
  3. Put on your gloves and add a few drops of polish into the water. Swirl it around quickly with a plastic utensil or wooden skewer.
  4. Place one egg into the water and swirl it around. Lift the egg out and place it in a carton to dry.
  5. Repeat for each egg, adding a few more drops of polish to the water as necessary.

I usually use the Paas coloring kits but I love that these Easter eggs have an overall marbleized effect. Each one will be unique and it’s a great way to finish up any old nail polish you have lying around!
