Wine For The Holidays, A Shopping Guide

Red may be the traditional color of the Christmas season but I love wine for the holidays. I also like drinking wine around the holidays but I will save that for another post!

The deeper shades of red such as wine, burgundy, and maroon have purplish undertones and give off an elegant feel. Try wearing these sophisticated hues around the holidays as a more festive alternative to black that is just as slimming!

Wine For The Holidays – Day and Night

Since I will be hosting Christmas this year, I am looking for a comfortable but stylish pair of pants and I think these fit the bill. Wearing a matching top is super slimming too. The fact that they are sleeveless is another plus!

Each winter I like to replace at least one pair of pajamas and I think this satiny pair will make a great gift too. Speaking of gifts, I hope my daughter is not reading this post because I have a feeling Santa will be leaving this skirt and pouch under the tree for her this year!

Wine For The Holidays – Accessories

Wine pairs well with shades of gray, navy, olive green, camel, and black. Since these are great neutrals for a winter coat or jacket, burgundy-colored cold weather accessories are a great accent. And statement earrings in an unexpected color are always in style!

Wine For The Holidays – Beauty

The holidays are also a great reason to change up your usual makeup routine. Trade-in your black mascara for deep burgundy or your nude lip for a rich red tone. These are great stocking stuffers too!

I hope this “wine for the holidays” shopping guide inspires gift ideas or outfits for your own holiday celebrations. Let me know if you love these shades of red as much as I do!
