L’Oréal Summer Belle Makeup Collection – My Review

Who doesn’t want a bronzy, glowy look during the summer? The 13-piece limited edition Summer Belle Collection (designed by L’Oréal Paris in collaboration with Walmart) recently caught my eye. Since I used these products for a few weeks now, I thought I would share my unsponsored and unbiased review.

The Summer Belle Makeup Collection

The Summer Belle collection contains 4 types of makeup:

  1. Bronzers
  2. Blushes
  3. Lip Glosses
  4. Liquid Luminizers

Bronzers

Bronze Please! is a matte bronzer that comes in 3 shades: Portofino (Light), Amalfi (Medium), and Taormina (Dark).

I bought the Amalfi (Medium) shade as it suits my skin tone best. I like to apply the bronzer to my cheeks, around the forehead, along the bridge of my nose, and on the chin for an all-over bronzed look. I also like to sweep some onto my neck and collarbone.

The matte powder is finely milled and easy to apply. I love that the bronzer is matte as I prefer to use blush or highlighter for iridescence. With this bronzer, you can fake a bronzed complexion all year long!

While I still love my other favorite bronzers, I find that I have been reaching for this one more and more. The only downside to this bronzer is the lack of a mirrored compact. But, the L’Oréal brand certainly wins on cost and, since I don’t usually carry a bronzer with me when I go out, the lack of a mirrored compact is not an issue.

Blushers

Summer Belle Blush Please! comes in two shades: Blushin’ in Riviera and Blushin’ in Saint-Tropez.

I purchased Saint-Tropez which is a beautiful peachy-pink color with little speckles of shimmer. I like the feel of the powder formula on my skin. While I wish there was a little more pigment so that I don’t have to apply multiple sweeps on my cheeks, you do get a lot of product. Even though I applied it more than once, the overall look is very natural. Another bonus is that you will not need to apply highlighter as it leaves you with a subtle glow!

Lip Glosses

Glowing Lip Gloss comes in 4 shades: Sun-Day Funday, Sea You Soon, Tropic Like It’s Hot, and Shell We Dance.

I purchased Tropic Like It’s Hot, a pinkish-nude and Shell We Dance, a nude shimmer. Rather than wearing alone, I prefer to use these glosses over my lipstick to lighten the color and leave a soft shine.

I also like their slight cherry scent. However, I find that I need to check the tube after use as a little seems to spill out when I put the wand back in. My inner neat freak isn’t too fond of this!

Liquid Luminizers

Beach Bae Face & Body Liquid Luminizer comes in 2 shades: Light to Medium and Medium to Deep.

The formula is hydrating, lightweight, and sheer. On your face, it can be used alone or over your foundation. Or you can apply it all over your body for a slight, bronze-shimmer glow.

I am using Light to Medium and while I have not tried it on my face, I like using it as a body moisturizer for a subtle hint of color!

Summer Belle – Final Thoughts

The packaging for the entire Summer Belle collection is super cute and the powder compacts have a stamped, tropical leaf design. I actually like that neither the bronzer nor the blush comes with an applicator since I prefer to use my own makeup brushes.

I highly recommend the bronzer, blusher, and liquid luminizer. While the lip glosses are nice and coordinate well, I would not classify them as must-haves from the collection.

If you want a glowy, bronzed makeup look (think JLo) at a very affordable price, you will love L’Oréal’s Summer Belle Collection!
